MCKARLEN VIETNAM · ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS

MEP Water Systems

Coordinate water-supply, circulation, boosting and drainage data so each pump duty is reviewed within the correct technical boundary.

01 · APPLICATION CONTEXT

Application and system context

01

Water supply and transfer

Review source, tanks, elevations, flow and operating pattern.

02

HVAC circulation

Define circulation duty from consultant-provided system data.

03

Pressure boosting

Compare pressure zones, demand, redundancy and controls.

04

Drainage

Classify wastewater, sump, solids and installation arrangement.

02 · ENGINEERING CHALLENGES

Common engineering challenges

01

Schedule mismatch

Models, duty, electrical supply and notes differ across BOQ and drawings.

02

Unclear interfaces

Piping, electrical, BMS, control-panel and responsibility boundaries are open.

03

Maintenance space

Removal, lifting, transport and service access are overlooked.

04

Design changes

Duty and configuration are not updated after piping or elevation changes.

03 · REQUIRED PROJECT DATA

Required project data

Duty register Equipment tag, application, duty, quantity, redundancy and location.
Drawings / documents Pump Schedule, BOQ, schematics, layouts and pump-room details.
Electrical / controls Supply, starting, VFD, BMS signals and project-defined logic.
Operation / maintenance Hours, alternation, access, lifting and spare-parts needs.

04 · ENGINEERING APPROACH

Review and selection flow

  1. Build a duty-by-duty matrix from MEP documents.
  2. Normalize duty, liquid, electrical supply and redundancy.
  3. Review piping, electrical, control and space interfaces.
  4. Map CI/VI, HCR or ACI to the correct duty without catalogue dumping.
  5. Issue the confirmation list, documents and remaining interface items.

05 · PRODUCT ROLE

Relevant product families

CI/VI for inline circulation or transfer; HCR is a vertical multistage stainless-steel centrifugal pump for suitable boosting duties; ACI for suitable wastewater duties. Select a model separately for each duty.

CONTROLLED FAMILY

CI / VI

Use only after duty, liquid, model and configuration are confirmed.

CONTROLLED FAMILY

HCR

Use only after duty, liquid, model and configuration are confirmed.

CONTROLLED FAMILY

ACI

Use only after duty, liquid, model and configuration are confirmed.

06 · RESPONSIBILITY CONTROL

Selection and responsibility boundaries

McKarlen scope

  • Review Pump Schedule/BOQ and duty data
  • Recommend family/model, documents and equipment interfaces
  • Support technical clarification within supplied-equipment scope

Responsible-party scope

  • Complete MEP design or drawing approval
  • Piping, electrical, control, structural or fire-protection design
  • Site coordination, installation or whole-system commissioning

07 · DOCUMENT CONTROL

Technical documents and evidence

  • Reviewed Pump Schedule / BOQAvailable
  • Correct model curveRequest by model
  • Model-specific dimensional drawingRequest by model
  • Datasheet and material confirmationRequest by model

Document-use principle

Release only the confirmed family, model and revision. Legacy catalogues or documents with obsolete identity are not converted into public downloads.

08 · EVIDENCE GATE

Project evidence

No project record currently meets the evidence and usage-right threshold for publication on this page. No Project Case card is created until that evidence exists.

09 · KNOWLEDGE

Engineering knowledge / FAQ

Can one model list cover the whole project?

No. Each duty needs its own liquid, flow, head, installation and electrical data.

Can McKarlen review a BOQ and Pump Schedule?

They can be reviewed within the pump-equipment selection scope.

Does this replace the MEP consultant?

No. System design and approval remain with the responsible party.
